Amy's Ambulance

Adventures from a 22 yr old female EMT currently working in Connecticut.
Chief complaint,
Hi there Amy! I am Blue! I am a bounty hunter/ security guard that is going to be starting EMS classes soon. What would you say to someone like me who is looking at getting into that sort of career?

Hey there! My advice as you become an EMT is to forget about some of your other training. I bet as a security guard/bounty hunter you will already work well in high stress environments and be observant of the little things, but in order for us to do our jobs, it’s very important as EMTs to stay safe. Although you may want to run in to break up a fist fight, or tackle a patient off their mind on pcp, it really isn’t worth it to do so. Hope that helps, best of luck!

A partner that lets you take naps when you have downtime, IS A REALLY GOOD PARTNER.

So my last call was with a sweet old lady. We’ve seen her many times for lift assists but she had a lot of confusion so off to the hospital we went! When we arrive my partner opens the back and asks our pt “how was the ride?” Pt responds, “She talks to much!” I died, sorry I was trying to figure out what was wrong with you! Hahaha!

Beautiful day to decon my ambulance! Is it weird that I love the smell of Cavi wipes?

I heard if I call an ambulance I’ll be first in line at the hospital, and won’t have to wait in the front.

Let me help you walk to the waiting room. Thanks for wasting everyone’s time.
