Facebook! I don’t remember from whom specifically but I follow Nocturnal Medics, Tales From the Boo Boo Bus, Not in my Ambulance, and TMIACITW, so probably from one of those guys!

Lol such a small world! Because I was working with them both!

THAT IS CRAZY! EMS is a tiny world!

You're awesome and an amazing person!

WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

I wanna go everywhere, but right now, in this moment I would do anything to be back in Prague.

Personally, I would much rather ride in my ambulance.

Sometimes is does not go our way….

We’ve all been there.

Very interesting, share your thoughts!

Are you a volunteer? Have you ever been?

Personally, I got my start volunteering, still get on that ambulance as much as I can. I also work with a staffing agency, so volunteer ambulances that need help / day coverage pay me! Pretty sweet gig, and somethin’s gotta pay the bills.

Will commercial EMS take over? Let me know whatcha think!

braveresponders:

It’s a shame because many of us started out as volunteers. I think volunteering as an EMT is a great thing and should be dominant. Instead we see it going backwards. It’s all going paid and even worse merging with Fire Fighting. Which makes it hard for us who have absolutely no interest in fire department activity at all and just love the medical aspect of it. That’s why I can’t get an EMT job around here - any 911 responder job is a Fire Fighter based job and I just don’t want to be a part of that. I miss the days of EMS only departments and I definitely miss the days of EMS volunteers. Change must happen but change isn’t always necessarily good.

Hey guys,

Sorry I’ve been neglecting you all, I ran off to Europe for six weeks. It was amazing and there will be pictures of foreign ambulances to follow. In the mean time, please enjoy this lovely video!

If only all patients were this helpful!

Hi there Amy! I am Blue! I am a bounty hunter/ security guard that is going to be starting EMS classes soon. What would you say to someone like me who is looking at getting into that sort of career?
amysambulance amysambulance Said:

Hey there! My advice as you become an EMT is to forget about some of your other training. I bet as a security guard/bounty hunter you will already work well in high stress environments and be observant of the little things, but in order for us to do our jobs, it’s very important as EMTs to stay safe. Although you may want to run in to break up a fist fight, or tackle a patient off their mind on pcp, it really isn’t worth it to do so. Hope that helps, best of luck!
