Hey there! My advice as you become an EMT is to forget about some of your other training. I bet as a security guard/bounty hunter you will already work well in high stress environments and be observant of the little things, but in order for us to do our jobs, it’s very important as EMTs to stay safe. Although you may want to run in to break up a fist fight, or tackle a patient off their mind on pcp, it really isn’t worth it to do so. Hope that helps, best of luck!
A partner that lets you take naps when you have downtime, IS A REALLY GOOD PARTNER.
So my last call was with a sweet old lady. We’ve seen her many times for lift assists but she had a lot of confusion so off to the hospital we went! When we arrive my partner opens the back and asks our pt “how was the ride?” Pt responds, “She talks to much!” I died, sorry I was trying to figure out what was wrong with you! Hahaha!
